Automatic interpolation between keyframes in Grease Pencil

Interpolation is a powerful concept in animation. At its core, it's the process of filling in the in-between stages of an animation to produce smooth transitions between keyframes. Here's a dive into how it works and the benefits it offers.

2. Auto Interpolation

  • Automatically generate interpolation frames between two keyframes.

3. How to Use Auto Interpolation

  1. Create an initial shape, such as a circle.
  2. Move or modify that shape in a subsequent keyframe.
  3. With multi-frame switched on, select both keyframes.
  4. Choose the 'interpolate' option from the grease pencil dropdown in Edit mode to automatically generate the in-between frames.

  • Ensure consistency in the vertices. The start and end keyframes should have the same number and type of vertices for effective interpolation.
