Empty Temples
Impossible architecture in the Escher tradition — structures that cannot be entered and cannot be resolved.

Drawing on M.C. Escher, geometric puzzles, outsider art and game design, this series depicts impenetrable and impossible structures — buildings intended to provoke doubt about our history, our purpose and the nature of what we are looking at. They resemble living things more than architecture: they defy the elements and they outlast the people who might have built them.
Empty Temples works in stillness, dreams and visions, seen through impossible geometry and architectural symbolism. Nothing in them can be entered and nothing in them resolves.
