Utility

Short absurd loops made fast and released without ceremony. The series where the jokes live.

An animated loop of a scruffy character performing a short, pointless action.
A collection of useless gifs revolving around a non-existent narrative, fuelled by irrelevant actors.

That description is the canonical one, and it is accurate. Utility started as a way out of a corner. Frustrated with the noise around me and with my own perfectionism, I began making short, absurd animations on impulse and putting them out with no plan attached and nothing promised. The first batch was gone within minutes.

It has kept going since — currently 33 finished pieces of a planned 49, with collaborations, surprises and the occasional detour along the way.

This series holds a particular place for me. It is a standing reminder to let go, make the thing, and trust the process. It is also where the jokes live: a place to play, to be rude about things that deserve it, and to keep a running record of what was happening at the time.
